Día 9- Lauren
¡Buenas tardes! Yesterday was such a full day that a didn't get a chance to write, but it was so much fun! Paola and I accidentally overslept, but when we woke up at 11, we went to our host mom's home town for a fiesta. Only thirty people live in Galindo y Perahuy and I think half of them were her family. For lunch, Paola and I tried paella for the first time, and it was amazing! We talked with her family, especially with her brother-in-law who was trying to learn English, and Paola made up a game that we played with Señora Agustina's little nephew Rodrigo. After lunch, we went to the pool with her older nephew and some of his friends. We stayed there and hung out with them even though we couldn't understand half of what they were saying (they told us they had country accents) until 8, then we came back to the town for the real celebration. In the plaza, there were four "bulls" that were really giant water guns in wheelbarrows, and the kids had to run from them so they wouldn't get sprayed. After the running of the bulls, everyone in the town ate sausage, chicken, bread, and ice cream together in the plaza. We finally left the party at about 11:30 after thanking her family for an amazing day.
