Ashley Day 8

Today we ventured to Segovia. It was a 2 hour bus ride in which most of us girls fell asleep. When we arrived we saw these beautiful aquaducts. They were from the time of the Romans and the stones all worked together to hold each other up, the middle stone of the arc being most important. We walked with a tour guide through the royals streets. Our tour guide said that no one knows the real name of the street because it always goes by it's nickname. It got this name because the royals used to use these streets when they arrived into town. We walked all the way to the Alcázar. The building was absolutely gorgeous and at the end of the tour those who wanted to climb to the top of the tower could. The top of the tower had an amazing view of the city.

Our second big stop on our day trip was to a palace. The palace had more rooms than you can imagine and was covered in gold on the inside. Gold mirrors, art, and ceilings. It was home to many royals in its day and must have been very expensive. Each room was more extravagant than the next. We saw the garden of the palace too. The garden had statues and fountains and flowers. After the tour of the palace we headed home and had a nice relaxing bus ride.
